#ThisisEngineering Day 2019

On November 6th the Royal Academy of Engineering and Engineering UK launched #ThisisEngineering day. The campaign was intertwined with engineering week and was driven with a focus to change the current limited perception of engineering and encourage young females and males to pursue careers in engineering.

We spoke to some of our younger engineers about why they thought young people should consider a career in engineering. Here’s what they had to say.

Robbie, Contracts Coordinator

“I think it is important for younger people to get into engineering as there are technologies that are evolving all the time, which will require development again and again. Therefore, having more people getting involved in engineering is what will spur new ideas and solutions to solve engineering problems all over the world.”

Haaris, Project Manager

“I think there’s many reasons it is important for young people to pursue careers in engineering. Young people bring new ideas and fresh attitudes as well as innovative solutions to further our quality of life. A career in engineering grants you with a wide range of career opportunities and you can find the one which suits you best!”

Jonathan, Control Systems Engineer

“I think it’s important to get into engineering because there will always be new innovations and new progresses and new things to develop – we can never have too many engineers. So, get stuck in and enjoy!”

#ThisisEngineering Day was a great success and Kigtek were honoured to show our support. We love the opportunities engineering has brought us and are lucky to work with our fantastic customers to develop and implement electrical and control systems solutions!
